Military service members who have returned from combat are at an elevated risk of suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result of traumatic events they may have witnessed or experienced directly. According to a recent report by the Department of Veterans Affairs USA, of the 6 million Veterans who served in fiscal year 2021, about 10% of men and 19% of women were diagnosed with PTSD.
